Celebrating and embracing diversity across our business

Diversity, equity & inclusion

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone feels respected, valued and able to bring their authentic selves to work.

As a company, we are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace. We operate on the principle of equal opportunities for all employees, and we have a strict no-tolerance policy for any form of bullying, violence, discrimination, or harassment.

At Poseidon Sea Pilots, we are committed to fostering an inclusive culture that mirrors the diverse communities in which we live, work and play in. Our aim is to celebrate diversity in all its forms, ensuring that everyone feels a sense of belonging and is valued for their unique differences.

Reconciliation Action Plan

In May 2023, on the traditional land of the Turrbal, Yuggera and Quandamooka people, AMS Group and Poseidon Sea Pilots very proudly launched its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). We pay our respect to elders past and present and emerging. We recognise their continuing connections to lands, sea, and the environment and appreciate the shared generational knowledge that First Nations people hold.

We have established a key partnership with the Minjerribah Moorgumpin Elders-In-Council Aboriginal Corporation (MMEIC). In collaboration with MMEIC, AMS Group has established an educational partnership that will offer four maritime traineeships each year to First Nations descendants from the Quandamooka region.

This partnership will result in an estimated investment of $3.5M over a ten-year period and provide significant opportunities for these First Nations trainees in the maritime industry. The partnership also offers us the opportunity to learn and develop from the trainees as they bring their knowledge of the waterways on which we operate our business.

Our commitment to providing these maritime traineeships for First Nations descendants directly contributes to Australia's commitments for SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities.

AMS Group has also committed to spending 3% of our operating expenditure budget with indigenous-owned enterprises.

Veterans' Employment

We proudly support veteran employment, recognising their valuable skills and leadership.

With our workforce comprised of ex-defence personnel, we actively empower veterans through contributions to meaningful work, training and ongoing support in an inclusive environment.

Our business recognises the value and unique experience of our veterans and encourages employment opportunities for those who have served our country.
